Dubious first: SC judge questioned by CBI

New Delhi: In a dubious first, Justice Tarun Chaterjee of the Supreme Court has become the first sitting judge of the apex court to be questioned by the CBI.

Justice Chaterjee is accused of being the beneficiary of funds embezelled from the Ghaziabad district court treasury between 2002 and 2008.

The main accused Ashutosh Asthana, in his statement to the police, said that goods like towels, bedsheets, crockery and furniture were delivered by Asthana to Justice Chatterjee's home in Kolkata.

Justice Chatterjee's son Aagendra Chatterjee was also reportedly given a laptop worth Rs 1.25 lakh.
